Evaluating Websites

When using the Web for research, it is important to evaluate the website's information.  There are different methods of deciding if a source is credible.  "CRAAP" is an easy-to-remember evaluation acronym. 

CURRENCY:  The timeliness of the information.

RELEVANCE:  The importance of the information for your needs. 

AUTHORITY:  The source of the information. 

ACCURACY:  The reliability and correctness of the content. 

PURPOSE:  The reason for it or why the information exists.
